Hey everyone! As many of you know I’m back out on the field with the World Race again. This time as a Squad Leader for E Squad, an expedition team focused on the unreached areas of the world. I left home in early January to meet my squad in Georgia, as well as to say goodbye to my last squad.

This first month and a half has been incredible. I love my new squad and I love the people I get to lead alongside.

The Squad

It’s been so cool to see how God has grown me even from just last year and how he continues to call me further into dependence and faith upon him. There’s so much more I could say on this, but for now, I’d love to give you a quick glimpse into our first month in Australia!

The Leaders!

So for our time in Australia, we had the opportunity to partner with a YWAM base in Coffs Harbour, along the east coast of the country. This month was a month very focused on loving and serving area churches and missions in very tangible and practical ways. Our host, Sam, is very passionate about service and loving in the behind the scenes and we had the opportunity to serve alongside him and the YWAM base in this way.

We got to serve in a number of church services, we did maintenance and clean up work around multiple churches and the community, and we also helped a local rehab center with a number of work projects. It was awesome to serve the community and the church in Coffs Harbour this way.

Along with the work projects, we also had a number of opportunities to meet people and build relationships and share our stories. We got to help out at a nursing home, work with kids in the child care, and go out and meet new people on the streets and along the beaches. I personally had the opportunity to go and serve at a youth camp for a week which I absolutely loved. It’s been a few years since I’ve gotten to serve in a summer camp setting so it was cool to be back in that.

The last part of Australia was that we just had a lot of fun. Sam and the YWAM crew were always looking for ways to have fun and adventure and inviting us in, whether it was the rope swing, jumping off the pier, or going on scavenger hunts, the first month brought a ton of fun and was so sweet to start out this race.

So I know that was short but that was month one in a nutshell. My hope is to be so much better at keeping you guys up on what is happening this go round and this update was just step one. Be on the lookout for an update on month two soon and how you can partner with me in this season. Love you all!

Can you tell I just woke up?
